LA City Council Redistricting Proposal - 2012
Information on the proposed redistricting can be found here. Our current district map can be found here.
You can copy and paste the attached form letter if you wish to state your desire for our school to remain in Council District 4 ("CD4"):
Dear Members of the Redistricting Commission:
Email: redistricting.lacity@lacity.org
Fax: 213.922.7707
As a resident/stakeholder of Toluca Lake I would like to express my explicit interest in having our community continue to reside in Council District Four (“CD4”).
It has been proposed that Toluca Lake be removed from CD4 and become part of a newly drawn CD2 which would include adjoining Valley areas and be bordered on the south by Mulholland Drive.
I would like to state for the record that I am strongly opposed to this proposal.
Toluca Lake is, and continues to be, impacted by adjacent/surrounding areas and projects, such as:
The ability to have a voice with our Councilmember concerning issues directly impacting and adjacent to our community is essential.
Toluca Lake stands to be “cut off” from the Councilmember directly overseeing development, environmental and associated public safety projects and related concerns by virtue of the CD2 proposal. We are against such a change, as it effectively marginalizes our community, which stands to lose the most from these relevant issues that exist within and around our community.
Our desire to remain in CD4 is shared by all of the representative stakeholder groups in Toluca Lake:
I ask that Toluca Lake remain within Council District Four.
Sincerely,
(insert your name)
cc: Councilmember Tom LaBonge, Council District Four
Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council
Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce
Toluca Lake Homeowners’ Association

Big Sugar Desserts for Our Teachers!
Over 36 schools voted in the Big Sugar Bakeshop Teacher Appreciation Week contest, and we tied with Topanga Canyon Elementary for the most! The shop decided it was too close to call, so both schools won a delicious dessert tray for our teachers!
Thank you so much to all the parents, friends and families who helped us win!

Congratulations to our 2010/2011 Entertainment Book Top Sellers!
Toluca Lake students and their parents helped raise over $3200 to support the school by selling more than 125 Entertainment Books in our Fall Fundraiser! There were 51 students sold at least 1 book, and 13 Top Sellers who were selected to spend time in the "Tower of Treasure" where they had seconds to grab as much cash as they could!
