Room Parents are the point of contact for other parents and helps to facilitate communication in your child’s classroom. It shouldn’t take too much time, only a willingness to share out information quickly and be responsive to the 20-30 other families in your classroom.
Your teacher may ask you to disseminate a message, or in some cases Mr. Daniel (principal) or the PTA may send you reminders to share about upcoming events. Maybe you need to get in touch with another parent to create a study session, or you want to collaborate about a teacher gift or remind parents to submit permission forms for field trips.
Obviously, this role might change slightly during distance learning. We’ll just take it as it comes. Our hope is that each of you who becomes a Room Parent is able to engage most if not all of your fellow parents and encourage them to opt in.
If you’re interested, please fill out the form below, which will be submitted to Tessa Nordquist. She is the Room Parent lead this year. She’ll follow up with you and get you started!
