Special Door Prize at Next Weeks' Meetings!
At each of our February meetings (Tuesday 2/28 and Wednesday 2/29) we will have a delicious box of seasonal, farm-fresh, ORGANIC fruits and vegetables, courtesy of Abundant Harvest Organics!
One lucky attendee at EACH meeting will go home with a box chock full of healthy produce.

African-American History Month Writing Contest
Winners to be announced this Friday!
In honor of Black History Month, the
PTA is sponsoring a writing contest, open to all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade
students at Toluca Lake Elementary!
The best essay from each grade will be published in our school's Toluca Lake Times newspaper, and one essay per grade will be chosen to be read at the school’s Black History Month assembly in February.
Need another reason to enter? EVERYBODY who enters will get a chance to win 1 of 6 $20 gift cards to Barnes & Noble!
To participate, write at least one paragraph about an African-American who is a role model to you and other students. Include your name, classroom number and a title for your essay. Describe why you admire this person, giving examples of what they did to inspire you. Be sure to use correct spelling and punctuation!
You can choose any current or past African-American historical figure. For some ideas, visit the History Channel's website here, or visit your local library.
Entries are due Friday, February 17, to your teacher.
Gift Cards: Two winners per grade level will be chosen by random drawing. Each of 6 total winners will receive a $20 gift card to Barnes & Noble.
